Love isn’t cancelled: The Ned wedding of Oreoluwa & Toba

To say that 2020 has been a roller-coaster of a year for weddings is an understatement. The ups and downs of restrictions has been heartbreaking for so many couples and suppliers alike.

However, there are always glimmers of hope and when Oreoluwa and Toba contacted us earlier this year about their wedding in London we were so excited at the prospect of photographing their wedding – what feels like a unicorn in 2020. And for us, the celebrations with them started with their gorgeous stylish engagement shoot a month before.

They certainly had to do a lot of changing to their planning, but along with their dream wedding team, they married at the Holy Trinity Brompton in Kensington, followed by a beautiful and of course Covid safe reception at The Ned.

Oreoluwa and Toba’s wedding was restricted to just 15 (including them) but it just proved that Love always wins! This beautifully intimate London wedding was live streamed from the Church to guests all over the world who couldn’t be there in person.

Then for their reception, they started with a gorgeous lunch with their family, complete with cake cutting, speeches and a first dance. The Ned wedding team then turned the room around, cleaning everything down and ensuring a newly sanitised space 2 hours later for an evening meal and reception with their friends, and instead of a first dance, a fun game of Mr and Mrs (or the shoe game) – a great way to entertain your guests whilst everyone stayed seated!

And of course, this meant two stunning outfits for our incredible couple, a win win!

I’m sad that this our 2020 wedding season has been so short, but to all those couples out there who were able to still get married, congratulations. We all know that a wedding is more than just the legal paperwork side of things, it’s the joining together of the couple and their families. It’s a unity and a celebration of love. So here’s to more unities and celebrations next year.

And to our couples who have postponed to 2021 and 2022, we cannot wait to be part of your wedding day, to celebrate with you and capture those incredible moments. Your strength and resilience this year has been incredible.

Until next time,

Amanda x
