Katherine & Brenden’s intimate Essex wedding ceremony

The lifting of restrictions for couples to get married meant that Katherine and Brenden were able to conduct an intimate Essex wedding with their immediate family in a Church in their home town of Rayleigh.  Despite the lack of guest numbers, the love felt for them both was as strong as ever, marrying in a Church close to their hearts.

This was my first Covid wedding (Jack and Bindy’s wedding last month was photographed by one of our AKP Associate Photographers, so whilst I got to edit it, it’s not the same as being there).   And I’ll admit, it was a bit strange being met by people wearing masks when I looked past the couple getting married.   I was in my usual spot at the front of the Church (socially distanced of course, and keeping to one spot) but instead of beaming smiles behind Katherine and Brenden, I could see the love and smiles in their guests’ eyes, just above their masks!

Following their intimate Essex wedding ceremony, we did a few portraits outside the Church before the couple drove off into the sunset (ok, not sunset, as it was the middle of the day in summer, but you get the drift!)

It’s so lovely to be back photographing weddings and happy couples, and whilst it’s not weddings as we know them, they are no less special and so it’s an honour as always to be part of Katherine and Brenden’s day.  We don’t know how long these intimate weddings will need to continue, and for many couples it’s not what they envisaged for their big day, but know that however you choose to celebrate, be that waiting until this has all blown over, or embracing the intimate wedding, it’ll be the absolute right decision for you as a couple and it will be an amazing day.

We can’t wait to continue the celebrations with Katherine and Brenden next year when they’ll be joined by a wider group of friends and family at Cressing Temple Barns.

Until next time,

Amanda x
