Hygge living and a relaxed Sunday brunch with Denby

We love the ethos behind Hygge living!

If it’s not something you have come across yet then let me give you a really quick overview…  Hygge living is Danish for a mood or feeling that comes from taking pleasure from the simple or ordinary things in life.  It’s about appreciating the things and people around you.  It’s also about being present in the now and that every day moments are meaningful.

In addition to Hygge living……  brunch has to be one of my favourite meals… who doesn’t love an excuse to eat delicious pastries, fresh fruit and have that gorgeous aroma of just brewed coffee!  There’s been a real revival of brunch in London over the last year, especially with the trend of bottomless brunches (an absolute ingenious idea).  But sometimes you just want to curl up in the comfort of your own home and have the ultimate relaxed Sunday brunch.

We teamed up with Fleur and Fig earlier this year to create the sort of Hygge living vibe in your own living room that will have you running to your nearest bakery faster than you can say brunch!   Now, whilst Hygge living is not about buying lots of Scandi inspired décor, we couldn’t resist bringing in the new Natural Canvas range from Denby for this shoot.  The wholesome design of the plates created a real homely feeling to our brunch.

We kept the food for this brunch simple and easy

After a hectic week and a social Saturday we know you’re not necessarily going to want to be cooking up a storm.  So start with fresh pastries and waffles and a crunchy granola for your base base…  Top them with delicious fruit (berries are our fave) or a thick creamy yoghurt.  And voila, you have a simple but yummy brunch… Quick and easy to curl up on the sofa together.  What are you favourite brunch combinations?

Until next time,
