Hutton Hall wedding photography | Katrina and Chris’ sneak peek
Hutton Hall has to be one of my favourite venues in Essex to photograph at, it’s gorgeous, the light in there is perfect (have you seen their wedding suite!?) and the team are an absolute dream. So when you throw the loveliest couple into the mix, as we had with Katrina and Chris it was the perfect wedding day.
Right from meeting them before they booked, we knew there would be movie inspiration throughout the day and so we were excited to see this come to life, and it was fabulous – the perfect mix of wedding elegance and movie heroes.
We started the day with Katrina getting ready in the wedding suite and Chris in one of the lounge areas downstairs where gifts and Easter Eggs were exchanged, after all it was Good Friday so the couple didn’t want their wedding party to miss out. Both rooms were filled with an excited but also calm energy, just what you need for the morning of your wedding. The first hints of the movie inspiration were seen, with superhero cufflinks and cinema style tickets for the wedding stationery. A love of ducks was also evident, with a cute handmade wooden ring box to keep the wedding bands safe.
The ceremony was held in the beautiful blue room, it’s one of my favourite parts of the day. It’s the reason everyone is there, to see two people who so very clearly love each other, get married and there are always happy tears and loving smiles rippling through the guests. The couple were brimming with happiness and it was a truly beautiful ceremony.
After the ceremony we headed outside for confetti and group shots, followed by drinks and canapes in the garden, before I snuck the newlyweds away for some portraits and the finishing touches were added to the marquee. Each table named after a movie, and 3D glasses provided to the guests for the high-tech Father of the Bride speech. The cake, beautifully made by the Mother of the Bride, included a movie strip of the couple’s life together, including images from their engagement shoot – by far the most creative use of engagement photos yet!
As we headed into the evening, not only did Katrina and Chris pull of a fantastic choreographed dance, so did Katrina and her Dad, really setting the bar high for the guests to show off their own moves and set the tone for what was a real party atmosphere for the night.
Before we left them to it, the light was being an absolute dream so we snuck away for some final images in the golden light (my fave!).
Congratulations Katrina and Chris, we loved being part of your day and can’t wait to share the rest of the images with you.
Until next time,
