Festival inspired childhood lifestyle photography session
A couple of weeks ago I left the dreary grey rain of London and headed up to the Lake District where I was met with beautiful sunshine and glorious warmth, needless to say I wasn’t massively prepared for such warm weather further north so I was pretty toasty! Anyway, the reason for the shoot was for Aspire’s childhood lifestyle photography in the shape of a fabulous festival inspired styled shoot.
I’ve previously attended one of their shoots and you may remember seeing Alice in Wonderland grace the blog, so I knew I was in for a treat with heaps of great details and of course gorgeous children to photograph. And sure enough I wasn’t disappointed, ranging from tiny little cuties, energetic toddlers and teenagers with far more style than I have, it was an awesome day.
The beauty of these sessions is not just to let my creativity flow but to also gain ideas on how to style the childhood lifestyle photography sessions we offer. It shows me how just a simple theme, hobby or idea can be expertly executed to give portraits that really show the character and personality of the child (or teenager) and produce images that any family would treasure. For me, family or childhood lifestyle photography sessions are not about standing rigidly staring at the camera and feeling awkward, it’s about having fun and just being yourself, because that’s what childhood and family is about.
Parents often worry that their children won’t sit still, but who cares?! If they want to run around and explore, then don’t worry, I’ll have flat shoes at the ready to explore with them, just like the fairy hunting I did last year! Let the images tell the story and wow don’t kids have the best imagination! So if you’re ready to embrace a bit of creativity and have images that show what you’re family really love then please get in touch to talk about a family or childhood lifestyle photography session today.
Until next time,
