Essex beach engagement shoot | Amanda Karen Photography
Sometimes I forget how beautiful the British coastlines can be, and to be honest, I don’t know if I could tell you how to get to this beach, the sat nav certainly didn’t seem to think that I was driving on the road at times! But wow, when I turned up, we literally had the run of the beach and the ruins to ourselves! Unheard of to have a deserted beach in the middle of summer lol!
I think we might have walked past a dog walker, maybe even two, but that was it! And what I love about this beach, is that there is a wildness about it that just instantly makes the shoot feel romantic as you naturally want to snuggle up that bit closer to each other (a bit like the one in the South of France I shot at a couple of years ago).
After along the beach, we sought some shelter from the wind behind an old building, which whilst we couldn’t go in it (not even sure if it’s a functional building any more) it provided a break from the wind.

Beach engagement shoots have such variety, from the quaint beach hut shoot we shared last week, Brighton earlier in the month and Leigh on Sea earlier in the year, I love how different feels can be achieved with the UK coastline!
If you’re thinking a UK beach engagement shoot, where would you choose? Or would you steer clear of the beach and go for something more urban or green? All are incredible settings for your engagement shoot, and I love it when they help tell the story of the couple, it brings the shoot more to life and ties in so nicely with celebrating this stage in your relationship.
Until next time,
