English garden marquee wedding | Poppy and Chris sneak peek
I’m not going to lie, the weather was less than ideal for Poppy and Chris’ wedding. It was bitterly cold, windy and at times throwing it down with rain. But for the most part, it stayed dry when it needed to and whilst we didn’t get the beautiful golden light Poppy and I had been hoping for, it was a pretty awesome day.
I love home weddings, there is an added sense of family and love there, getting ready in your old room, having all your favourite people in the place you grew up in, and using cherished spots for your portraits as a newlywed couple.
What was also a bonus for this wedding, was that because of it’s location, the flowers and wine were also local, imagine having two of my favourite things on your doorstep (yes, I am a lover of flowers and wine, Hutch take note please!)
The ceremony was held at their local Church and was a really lovely and moving ceremony, where even the Church got a floral makeover! Poppy looked absolutely breathtaking, and you could tell that Chris thought so too, beaming when she arrived at his side.
As we moved back to the house, with the marquee opened up and the wine flowing, we knew there would be a lot of laughs during the speeches…. we were not disappointed. As the night fell and the dancing started, the house lit up the background of the clear marquee, looking very magical and dramatic.
So without further ado, here is their sneak peek from the day…
Poppy and Chris, it was an absolute pleasure being part of your day and hope you have a wonderful honeymoon.
Until next time,
Wedding dream team
