Clissold House wedding: transition of seasons styled shoot

If Hutch and I were to get married again then I think this inspiration shoot I am about to share with you would be as close as it gets to my dream wedding!  Now don’t get me wrong, we had a lovely day, however knowing what I know now and knowing the suppliers I know now, our wedding would be very different and a lot more representative of us as a couple!

Philippa (from Fleur and Fig) and I starting talking about this shoot a good six months before it actually came into fruition, we knew exactly what we wanted it to look like and even the suppliers we wanted on board.  It was about pulling together our dream team, for the most gorgeous stylish London wedding.

The inspiration behind this shoot was the London couple, who likely work in the City, love dining out, hosting parties with their friends and have a real sense of style.  Sound like you?

We knew we wanted the London feel for this shoot, but also wanted a light and airy venue that had a real sense of grandeur and style, which is where Clissold House comes in.  It’s imposing pillars at the front, set in the grounds of Clissold Park in East London, the rooms inside are filled with natural light, beautifully decorated to provide any stylish couple with a luxurious blank canvas for their creativity to run wild.

Philippa ad Steph (of Fleur and Fig) got their styling hats on and pulled together a dreamy moodboard, which when we sent to Emma Soulsby Flowers, resulted in all sorts of amazing ideas for a spiral floral installation and matching floral dressing for the spiral staircase that runs up through Clissold House.  After all, you want a grand entrance to greet your guests don’t you!?  From there, Emma also created table centre pieces and arrangements for the ceremony room that had a nod to industrial feels, with metal and concrete but kept that dreamy luxe feel we wanted to achieve with this shoot.

Next up the cake, well actually not just a cake but a dessert table.  I love desserts and the idea of creating a dessert table with our couple’s favourite sweet treats on was just too tempting to resist.  So, we had miniature meringue kisses, cheesecakes, profiteroles, cookies and cake pops!  All surrounding a simple but stylish tiered wedding cake, courtesy of Coco and Silk.  Oh and did I mention that there was gold leaf too.  The sweet treats didn’t stop there, rather than a table plan, a table was adorned with miniature semi naked cakes with gorgeous name tags by Bureau Design.  A delicious start to any wedding breakfast!

Any London wedding needs to have a gorgeous reception set up, and rather than steering towards the traditional round tables you see time and time again, this time we opted for long wooden tables with gorgeous silk runners and candlesticks to complement the floral arrangements.  The first hint the guests would get from such a stylish London wedding would be the gorgeous invitation suites, the style of which ran through the rest of the stationery for the wedding.

So now on to our gorgeous couple (of course they are gorgeous, all our couples are!) Our bride was dressed in the most exquisite gown from Luella’s in Wimbledon, I would have loved to have tried this on!  And our dashing groom was kitted out by none other than Alexandra Wood Bespoke (who you may remember has graced our blog and shoots before, only the best for an AKP Groom!)  But I mustn’t forget the amazing Jimmy Choo shoes!

Like any stylish bride, the wedding look is not complete without expert hair and makeup, so of course we worked with Alison Jenner who created this effortlessly stylish and simply beautiful look for our bride (and also created a man bun for our groom!)

After capturing all the details of our Clissold House wedding, we ventured outside to capture some true stylish wedding portraits, using not only the grand entrance to the venue, but exploring the park and streets surrounding it.
