Being present. Are you in your photos?
Recently we had a couple shoot with the extremely lovely and talented Caroline from Lily and Bluebelle, partly because we needed some photos for our new about page, but also to have some great images of ourselves as a couple, that weren’t phone pics or where one of us is missing. Even when we’re on holiday we both have our cameras and rarely get a decent photo of us together. It was a shoot that was all about us!
I’ll admit it was a bit strange being the other side of the camera, but Caroline instantly put us at ease and, if I do say so myself, the results were lovely (it is rare that I like a photo I am in!) We finally have some images that I want to put up in our (new) home. But it got me thinking, how many of you out there have pictures of your friends and families, but you’re not in them? We have many like this, and I doubt that we are alone in this.
So this is my pledge… to be present in photos, so that I can start our very own gallery wall of our friends and family. Despite knowing this will be a logistical nightmare, I am going to try and organise a shoot with my uni girls and then one with our family so that we too can have fine art prints on our walls. Here’s to being present in your photos!
