Alfresco dining at Oyster Creek Kitchen in Southend
Who doesn’t love sitting outside in summer, on the sea front for lunch on a Sunday?! After visiting the Westcliff Hotel ahead of a wedding their next month, we visited the Oyster Creek Kitchen in Southend for a spot of Alfresco dining. It’s only been open a few weeks but I know we’ll definitely going back, after all there was only so much we could sample of the menu and their cocktails and sundaes looked delish and I know it will look magical on an evening when it’s all lit up. We ordered the softshell crab bun and the lobster with lime mayo bun and of course went halves so that we could both try both meals. I didn’t get any pictures of the food, as it was eaten way before that even crossed my mind, I’ll just have to go back.
Set in one of the converted sun shelters on the Southend sea front, there is such a relaxed atmosphere here and the staff are all really friendly. I love that their ethos is in keeping everything fresh and that the food is sourced as close by as possible. This place would make the perfect place for a pre or post wedding meal, ideal for chilling out with your bridal party, friends and family.
It was the perfect setting for a sunny Sunday.
