A floral workshop with Joanne Truby Floral Designs

Joanne Truby is one of the London florists I’ve had the great pleasure of working with this year and earlier in the summer I had the pleasure of photographing (and taking part) in one of her floral workshops.  Set in a gorgeous river side pub in Greenwich, an area of London close to my heart having spent time living in that area and still missing it a bit.  The light and airy room within the Trafalgar Tavern was perfect for Joanne’s workshop, the huge windows overlooking the water let in so much beautiful light which poured over the buckets of gorgeous blooms and foliage we were going to be allowed to create with.

The class started with how to condition your flowers in order to get the most out of them and as we were taught how to create a hand tied bouquet, it bought home to me even more just how much work goes in to creating beautiful bouquets for weddings or as gifts.  It’s so worth it though, nothing beats that sight of beautiful flowers or the fragrance that fills your home.  It’s just not the same buying them from the supermarket!

Excitingly Joanne will be running more workshop and will be holding a wreath making class in early December at the very same venue that this workshop was held in.  Simply email Joanne for more information and to book your place.

Until next time,
