Wedding FAQs

As part of your search for your wedding photographer you are bound to have some questions, so we’ve added our most frequently asked questions, however please don’t hesitate to drop us an email at hello@amandakarenphotography.co.uk or call us on 0749114451, we would love to hear all about your wedding and answer any questions you have.

 

How many images will we receive from our wedding?

Whilst every wedding is different, we aim to provide at least 350 images of your wedding day, running from you getting ready in the morning through to just after the first dance.

When will we receive our images?

Your online gallery link will be sent to you 4-6 weeks after your wedding, this will allow you to start thinking about which images you would like to include in your album, we’ll schedule a session around this time to make decisions about your album such as cover options and key images to include. If you have opted for a collection with digital files, your USB drive will also be sent to you at the same time as the online gallery.

Once an album design is agreed, we submit it to Folio and then it’s typically about 8 weeks before we then send it on to you.

How do we book you?

That’s simple, just contact us to discuss your needs and to receive a copy of our gorgeous pricing brochure and then we can schedule a time to talk through which collection you would like to go for. To secure your wedding date in our diaries we need a signed contract an 25% of the balance paid as a booking fee.

When do we pay for our photography?

Once you’ve paid the initial 25% booking fee of the collection price, the remaining balance is then payable one month before your wedding date.

What if your equipment breaks / you lose our images?

Like any professional photographer should, we have back up equipment with us on the day and your images are backed up in multiple places – we copy the images onto our laptop during the meal and then when we get home the images are stored on a secure external hard drive as well as in cloud. In addition to this we have both professional liability and indemnity insurance.

What’s an engagement shoot?

An engagement shoot is a perfect time to take a break from planning a wedding and take some time as just the two of you. It’s an hour and a half shoot, in a location of your choice where not only will you get some gorgeous images of you two, but it will give you some practice in front of the camera so you’re nice and relaxed for your wedding portraits. You’ll see how relaxed our approach is and that it’s not all stiff posing and strange face pulling!

What if something happens and you can’t shoot our wedding on the day?

This hasn’t happened yet, but I know it’s something that couples worry about, so in the extremely unlikely event we couldn’t attend your wedding (and it would have to be something really dire, as nothing can keep me from a wedding!) then we have an amazing network of wedding photographers who we trust with our life who we could call upon to photograph your wedding (at no extra cost to you obviously) to the same style and standard we produce.

Can we meet you first?

Of course you can, simply get in touch and if you’re local we can arrange a time to meet (and you can see some of our gorgeous sample albums) or we can arrange a time to Skype if you’re not in Essex or London.

Can we print our images?

If you have digital images with your wedding collection then with that comes permission to print, the only thing to note is that colours can’t be guaranteed if you take them to be printed at a high street lab rather than a professional one. We calibrate our screen to the print lab we use so that we can guarantee the colours and tones are as they should be.
