Wild Romance Beach Wedding on the Shores of Southern France
A beach wedding often conjures images of soft sandy dunes, palms, cocktails and sunsets. The soft beaches of the South of France are well known destinations but the rocky shorelines that surround Cap d’Antibes provide a wildly romantic backdrop for those who seek them out.
Over the years, these shores have become film sets or playgrounds for the rich and famous. Their beauty has also inspired artists such as Picasso and iconic writers. So, when I was searching for an extraordinary location for a bridal inspiration shoot, there really was nowhere more perfect.
The inspiration for the shoot came from the wild and natural location but I also wanted to keep the look and feel very soft and romantic. The colour palette included rich purples and dreamy peach tones in abundance so it was feminine with a touch of drama.
Our bride absolutely reflected the untamed beauty of our location. Her tousled, undone hair and barely-there makeup by Aglaia were both beyond perfect. A Leanne Marshall wedding gown from bridal boutique Hearts Aflutter was equally unstructured and moved beautifully in the sea breezes.
Azur Flowers created a loose and natural bridal bouquet that added a real depth to our bride’s look. The darker tones created a striking contrast and the handtied arrangement was finished with heavenly trailing hand-died silk ribbons from Kate Cullen. These mirrored the movement of our bride’s gown in the most exquisite way.
Our secret cove in Cap d’Antibes also provided a memorable location for our a deux table setting. More vibrant flowers cascaded from their vase onto the rocky tabletop that was given a luxurious feel with silk table runners from Kate Cullen in purple and peach. Crockery by Anthropologie also played with contrasts and the delicate glass plates and heavier ceramic bowls worked wonderfully together.
The oh-so appropriately named By Moon and Tide created truly charming stationery for this shoot that again mixed light, elegant calligraphy with textured heavyweight card. The fine lines and hand-drawn elements were just divine.
This shoot really was a story of opposites and contradictions. Soft and rugged textures alongside light shades and darker tones. Wild romance and enduring beauty…
